Jon has over 15 years of experience in ecology and conservation. He previously held post-doctoral positions at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science and the Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, and later served as the Tennenbaum Coordinating Scientist for the MarineGEO Program at the Smithsonian Institution. He has authored nearly 100 peer-reviewed publications and his work has been featured by national and international media. He is also the recipient of the Cozzarelli Prize from the editorial board of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and the Secretary’s Research Prize from the Smithsonian Institution.
